Manitoba Brew Pass Review

Manitoba Brew Pass Review

One of Winnipeg’s best-kept secrets is the wide array of craft breweries, and with the Manitoba Brew Pass, a 1, 3 or 90-day pass that gives you all access to some of the city’s best breweries and distilleries!

I’m personally a huge fan of anything Winnipeg and all things local beer and spirits, so the opportunity to visit up to 10 of Manitoba’s very best on a tasting tour was right up my alley!

Whether you’re looking for a fun date night, a gift idea for the person who has it all, or a get-together with a group of friends this holiday season, the Manitoba Brew Pass is the perfect option with a price point for everyone, based on your needs.

The best part about it (in my humble opinion) is the savings! For example, with the 1-day $29 pass, you’re getting 4 flights/pours for $7.25 each, with the value of each ranging from $7-$15. You basically get 4 for the price of 2 with this pass!

The Pass

So how does it work? It’s easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Purchase Your Pass: choose from 1-day pass (up to 4 breweries) for $29, a 3-day pass (up to 6 breweries) for $49, or a 60-day pass (up to 10 breweries) for $69.
  2. Instantly Receive It Via Email/Text: as soon as you purchase, your pass will be sent to you via a link through text and email so you can access it immediately, no wait and no printing required. Not to worry if you’re planning to use it at a later date; you can start using your pass up to 90 days after purchasing it, and it won’t be activated until your first brewery redemption. Getting it as a gift? Once you purchase, you can transfer the pass to another person super easily through the link you receive.
  3. Redeem Your Pass: at each stop, simply pull up your pass and present it to staff to redeem your tasting flight or pour and other awesome discounts on merchandise & more.

The Tour

start at…

With 12 spots to choose from, we decided to plan this tour with 4 tastings among the Exchange District and into Downtown Winnipeg to keep things simple so we could walk to each and see a bit of Winnipeg along the way!

Little Brown Jug Brewing

LBJ feels like the OG craft brewery and taproom in Winnipeg for me, and it’s a super cool spot with an open concept brewery you can see right from your seat, and gorgeous natural light seeping through the big windows. I loved all the beer I chose for my tasting flight, especially the Summer Lager while Nico loved the Black Lager.

walk to…

Nonsuch Brewing Co.

A chic, elevated spot with a comfortable feeling, Nonsuch is one of our go-to spots for on-site brewed beers. Here we received full pours, so I opted for the Vessel Moscow Mule which was delicious, and I also recommend any of their Sours. This is a great spot to grab a mid-tour bite as well, we love the Chips & Avec Dip, but there’s plenty of shareables for whatever you’re in the mood for.

walk to…

Patent 5 Distillery & Tasting Room

A hidden gem in the Exchange District, Patent 5 offers a cozy, intimate vibe in a former livery stable turned craft distillery. It was a nice change to try some high-quality spirits from their Classic & Contemporary tasting flights, featuring various gins & vodkas, including our favourite Purple Blossom Gin.

uber or brave the cold and walk to…

Lake of the Woods Brewing Company

Get a taste of the classic, casual lake-life brewery in the city with the new LOW Brew Co. spot in True North Square. We got tasting flights and of course loved their signature Lakeside Kolsch, but were excited to find they now offer Hard Seltzers! The Passionfruit Orange Guava was amazing. The perfect place to end the tour and grab a bite at one of the many restaurants just upstairs in Hargrave St. Market

finish!
