Sheertex Pantyhose: The Verdict

Sheertex Pantyhose: The Verdict

If there’s one pain point we as women face when dressing up — it’s due to pantyhose. Rips, snags, runs and just plain discomfort, there’s typically nothing fun about them… That is until Sheertex Pantyhose came along.

About Sheertex Pantyhose

Sheertex makes their pantyhose or as they call them, ‘sheers’ from the world’s strongest fibers to create a proprietary knit for truly unbreakable nylons. Engineered with miniature versions of the fibres found in bulletproof vests, Sheertex pantyhose offer 10x more strength than your typical nylons. Despite their superior strength, after multiple wears I’ve found these stockings to feel lightweight and breathable. As someone who works for an activewear brand, I can appreciate performance apparel and Sheertex pantyhose offer antimicrobial properties and are naturally cooling — something I think all ladies can appreciate when wearing a skirt or dress all day long.

Not only are these women’s pantyhose killer, so is there boss-lady founder. Canadian entrepreneur and Forbes 30 under 30 powerhouse Katherine Homuth founded the brand proving once again that females can do anything we want when we put our mind (and passion) to it.

Invest in your wardrobe

As a 20-something living life on a budget, it can be difficult to make room in the budget to invest in higher end products on a regular basis. I love a good deal as much as the next Winnipegger, but there are some things (just like a good pair of shoes) that are worth the investment. Sheertex hosiery are one of those investment pieces that you won’t regret. The high price point of these stockings may seem a bit over the top at first glance, but there are not your drugstore stockings. I read somewhere that on average, women go through a minimum of 6 pairs of pantyhose a year. Even at $5 a pop, that’s around $30 annually. Multiply that by the number of years you’ll be wearing pantyhose throughout your life, and it’s hundreds of dollars,

Sheertex & Sustainability

Not only are they a one-and-done purchase as you literally will never have to replace them, they’re actually extremely environmentally friendly. Sheertex was designed to be a lifelong product that you’ll get tons of wear our of over the years without adding to the landfills. Aren’t we all about minimizing our ecological footprint and avoiding fast fashion?

My Sheers

The same way all of us women are different, Sheertex has different style Sheers for all shapes and sizes. My personal favourite, the Shaping Sheers. They offer a compressive “control top” which acts almost as built in spankies to shape your body and smooth you out. I personally love this style, as I love to have some compression in my midsection when wearing a tight dress or skirt! If you want a little less compression, they also offer Classic Sheers without the control top or a number of other styles to suit you, your style, and your shape.

With 5 different sizes (small, medium, large x-large and 2/3x-large) and 3 different heights (short, regular, tall), say goodbye to one-size fits all. I wear a size medium regular in my sheers, but their easy to read Size Guide is a super helpful tool to determine your size based on height and weight.

Style your Sheers

Whether you tend to stick to skirt suits or opt for a mini, Sheertex pantyhose is a wardrobe essential! I love that I can throw them on under any outfit and feel instant confidence that they’ll flatter my curves and stay in one piece no matter what my day (or night) brings.
