5 Tips to Get The Job You Want

After grinding through university, I knew I didn’t want to settle for my first, real job. After all, your first job is probably the only job you can afford to take a risk on — so why not take a risk on it? Why not

Three Different Types of Business Attire

Three Different Types of Business Attire

Navigating the different types of business attire can at first feel a little daunting! I remember when I first started business school, seriously questioning WHY there were so many different types and HOW I would ever know what’s meant to be worn for when. But

4 Modern Women’s Workwear Edits

Modernizing women’s workwear is something that has seen massive progress over recent years, but it can be difficult to figure out exactly how to add a modern edge while still being work-appropriate.

Dressing up for your day job shouldn’t have to be boring. Work is where we spend 8+ hours a day, 5 out of 7 days a week. So why skimp out on your work attire? Discover 4 modern ways to improve your wardrobe with these women’s workwear style edits!

Whether you’re new to working in an office-environment, or you’re looking for a few new pieces to spruce up your work style, follow these tips for building up a women’s workwear wardrobe sure to be the envy of any workplace!

MODERN BLOUSES

As much as I love a good button-up shirt (see here for styling tips!), there’s no harm in switching it up with a classy blouse. I love a good wrap shirt, like this velvet pink bodysuit I’m wearing here. Just be sure to keep a blazer or jacket on hand in case you need to run out or have an impromptu (but important) meeting!

CULOTTES, JOGGERS, AND CROPS

These styles for WORK you say?! ABSOLUTELY! I am not a big fan of skinny pants for work, so mixing in more straight leg or jogger styles is right up my alley! Cropped pants work well with heels, mules or flats, and even mules making them perfect for the office, and workwear joggers are becoming a major style statement. I love wide leg culottes like the ones I’m wearing here. What better way to stay comfortable while still looking office-chic?

STATEMENT SHOES

If you’re struggling to stray from basic workwear, or if your office has a super strict business professional dress code, then don’t be afraid to kick it up a notch with your shoes! Whether you opt for a bold high heel or a colourful block heel, there are tons of ways to show your style through accessorizing with women’s workwear.

PATTERNS

Don’t be afraid to mix in a pattern or two! I LOVE opting for a striped or window-pane plaid bottom, and a neutral top rather than the typical patterned top and simple bottom. I find it adds a little something different, but still keeps your ensemble looking office-appropriate.
