BEACH, PLEASE

BEACH, PLEASE

Happy Tuesday, friends! For the Canadians like me, I hope you’ve all recuperated from your Aug-Long festivities this long weekend, and are well-rested for another week of working! (Or planning for next weekend…)

Summer’s coming to a close, but my obsession with bathing suits continues the whole year round making it the perfect time to shop right now with all the end-of-season sales! I’ve been looking for a one-piece throughout the summer but just couldn’t find one that I liked enough. I wanted something simple, classic,  and comfortable, but still have a little edge and still be fun.

If you’ve seen any of my posts thus far, you know I love a good stripe and this swimsuit is no exception!

I fell in love with this striped & black, cut-out monokini and ordered it online without trying it on, a little bit skeptical as to whether or not I would like it as much on, as I did on the website. But I ended up ordering it and then LOVING it, as you can tell, so here we are!

The suit is high waisted, and offers a lot of coverage so if you’re looking for something skimpy this isn’t the suit for you! But it is sooo comfy, and not at all like some of the one-pieces I’ve tried lately that ride up and just don’t fit the way you want them too. I love that this piece is modest, but the cut-out saves you from bad tanlines and kind of makes you feel like you’re actually wearing a bikini. I was lucky enough to snag this for $39, regular $98 during a swimwear sale, but I think it’s now at $49. STILL, a major steal for the quality and look you’re getting! See my post here for why I love affordable swimwear!

I also love that I could pair this suit with a pair of jean shorts and half button up a linen top for a casual look with the striped swim top showing through.

I paired this suit with a floppy straw hat by CC (it’s like it was made for me???) embroidered with “Bon Voyage”and black trim. I snagged this hat from Mad About Style for just $35. Mad About Style is one of my favourite local stores here in Winnipeg, as their pieces are always super in season, affordable, and unique! They order and sell just a few pieces of each item, ensuring you aren’t going to have the same dress (or shirt, or hat) as everyone else in the city (and as all Winnipeg girls know, in a city like this, this is a big deal). This hat is also available from Nordstrom with a ton of other cute sayings if you can’t find it at Mad!

Not only am I super excited to wear this suit and hat for more lake days throughout the summer, but this duo will absolutely be brought on my next winter vacay! Beach, please!
