HOW TO LIVE LAKE LIFE EVERYDAY

HOW TO LIVE LAKE LIFE EVERYDAY

For me, the cabin has always been my soul’s sanctuary. There’s just something about the peaceful serenity of being “at the lake”. Whether it’s your own cabin, or a friend’s or family’s, everyone can relate to the calm happiness that just radiates from you

4 SIMPLE WAYS TO STYLE A NECK SCARF

4 SIMPLE WAYS TO STYLE A NECK SCARF

Summer may be heating up but who says it’s not still scarf season? I love using accessories to really amp up my looks, but they can be pricey and I often just can’t splurge on something that I know I’ll only wear with a couple

HOW TO AVOID JET LAG

HOW TO AVOID JET LAG

It’s inevitable. After a 12 hour flight and an 8 hour time difference (or something along those lines), there’s no doubt  you won’t be feeling a litttttle jet-lagged. Or will you?

Anyone who’s travelled knows the feeling. You’re exhausted, your head aches, your skin feels dry and puffy, you may feel bloated, irritable, nauseous… basically ALL the WORST feelings. As I completed a longggg flight to and from Israel, I’ve rounded up my top tips to avoid (or at least lessen) the impact of jet lag’s symptoms

HYDRATE:

I say this all the time, but for flying ESPECIALLY. Ditch the coffee and opt for water water water. I always bring my own refillable bottle in my carry-on, and fill it up multiple times throughout the travel day. I read somewhere you should drink 8 oz of water for every hour you’re in the air and although I don’t know the science behind it, I’m fully on-board with this recommendation.

AVOID OVER-EATING:

Pass on any greasy, fatty food and opt for a fresh salad or juice instead. With such a long time of being sedentary (seated) on-flight, your body won’t be able to process what you eat as quickly or effectively, so ensure whatever you put into your body will fuel you up not sit in your stomach like bricks for hours.

PACK A COZY CARRY-ON:

maybe it’s just me but I cannot sleep on a plane without some form of a blanket. Pack one in your carry-on, or better yet save room and wear a blanket as a scarf on-board to cozy up and get that much needed mid-flight rest and help you beat jet lag. And those neck pillows that look super uncomfy? Truth be told they can be, but my secret is to get a micro-bead filled one! It’s much more bendable & double up as a solid pillow against the window if that’s where you’re seated!

MOISTURIZE:

You can’t forget about your skin! There’s three products you NEED to beat jet-lagged skin: chapstick, face cream, and hydrating mist. Using these products in cycle with drinking water throughout your waking hours on the flight is essential.

BONUS TIP: one of my favourite secrets is to put a jar face mask in the hotel mini fridge upon check-in. Then before bed, lather it on and the coolness of it will work its way into your skin sooo much deeper plus it feels amazing on a tired face!

CONSIDER MELATONIN OR SLEEPING PILLS:

I know some people are probably very much against sleeping pills, but I took a light dosage one on my way to Israel, and I slept like a baby the full flight! Arrived at 8 am Tel Aviv time bright eyed & bushy tailed, ready for the day ahead without the slightest bit of jet lag!

That’s it, that’s all my friends! Take care of yourself pre-flight and in-flight, and you’ll be fresh as can be when you arrive to your new locale for your trip ahead!

ISRAEL TRAVEL GUIDE

ISRAEL TRAVEL GUIDE

I never would have expected I would visit Israel. In fact, I didn’t even know Israel was anything more than Bethlehem… which in fact, I did not visit. But after spending 10 days in Israel, it’s hard to believe I had NO interest in visiting

SPRINGING INTO JUMPSUITS

SPRINGING INTO JUMPSUITS

Spring has finally sprung and jumpsuits are making a comeback again this season …or did they ever leave? Depends who you ask. If you talk to me, you’ll soon find out they’ve been a staple in my wardrobe for years now (In fact, you’ll still
